Description:
An intimate dystopian family drama, Light of My Life tells the story of a father caught in the dilemma about whether to save the innocence (and life) of his daughter or the future of vanishing mankind.
Dad and daughter Rag journey through the outskirts of society a decade after a pandemic has wiped out nearly all the female population, putting the world order in peril. When the exhausted pair is taken in by three old men, danger seems to be averted, and perhaps a home has been identified. But this is a desperate and violent world, and the small measure of peace the parent and child find is soon lost. As Dad struggles to protect his daughter's innocence, shielding her from the newfound dangers of man, their bond and the character of humanity is tested as Dad is forced to defend his daughter at all costs.

"As a parent, it's sometimes easy to see the world as a place of danger instead of beauty. And as a parent you have to protect your kid. /…/ The story is also about a young person who is feeling a natural and age appropriate desire to be independent. The parent is trying to balance their child's physical safety with their emotional and psychological wellbeing. He finds that his kid is perfectly capable of being her own saviour." (Casey Affleck)
