Description:
Award-winning Palestinian director Elia Suleiman asks a fundamental question: where is the place we can truly call home?
Elia Suleiman escapes from Palestine seeking an alternative homeland, only to find that Palestine is trailing behind him. The promise of a new life turns into a comedy of errors: however far he travels, from Paris to New York, something always reminds him of home. Playing himself without speaking a word for the whole film, the writer-director is an attentive, ironic observer of the human comedy in a world of global tension and paranoia. Here the search for identity and a homeland, a constant in his films, takes the form of a man looking for a quiet place to be himself and make movies.

"If my previous films tried to present Palestine as a microcosm of the world; my new film It Must Be Heaven tries to show the world as if it were a microcosm of Palestine." (Elia Suleiman)
